Skill Assessments
Understand what skill assessments are and what their scores reflect
A skill assessment is a test that quantifies a learner’s competencies and provides a way to evaluate their expertise at a specific skill, or in a specific skill set (a collection of similar skills). A user is asked a series of questions that are designed to objectively determine a user’s proficiency.
Some of these skill assessments are workrole assessments. These assessments are custom created by Cybrary and are tied to specific industry workroles. They measure the user's competency in the various skillsets that make up each workrole.
The assessment is scored on a 0-100 scale, ranging from Novice to Proficient:
- Novice (0-25) -- A novice user has little knowledge in the skillset that was assessed.
- Intermediate (25-50) -- An intermediate user has some working knowledge but needs more training to grasp all relevant concepts of the skillset that was assessed.
- Advanced (50-75) -- The user has a solid knowledge base but has not mastered the skillset that was assessed
- Proficient (75-100) -- The user has a high level of knowledge and has mastered or nearly mastered the skillset that was assessed.
